GenMine Research and Analysis

Our lab teams in the UK, Spain, and California carry out research and analysis to aid in identification of both  membrane scaling and  membrane fouling. Once identified, we can develop and recommend the appropriate cleaning protocols and antiscalant dosing regimens.

Extensive Research for Mine Water Treatment Efficiency

The chemists at our UK research and development center have carried out extensive research to develop new, efficient and effective antiscalant formulations and cleaners for plants treating specific mine waters. This work includes threshold testing with a number of different antiscalant formulations on various different types of scale, using: flat sheet rigs, and 2” and 8” membrane pilot plants.

Meanwhile our Genesys laboratories in Madrid, Spain, and Vista, California conduct autopsies to identify the cause of major and difficult-to-treat fouling problems and the best ways to tackle them.

Autopsies include:

  • Identification of water characteristics, scale and foulants.
  • Determining the salt rejection and flux capacity of membranes.
  • Oxidation and integrity testing.
  • Membrane cleaning tests to identify appropriate products and protocols.

Our team have carried out more than 2,300 membrane autopsies and tested over 10,000 water and deposit samples since 2001.

Where the challenges identified can’t readily be tackled with our existing products, our UK R&D team can formulate bespoke products to address them

Our locations

UK Lab & Production Facility

Our research laboratory and factory in Middlewich, UK, is where we manufacture our own range of specialty RO membrane chemicals. These include antiscalants, flocculants, biocides, and cleaning chemicals. All our products are manufactured to ISO 9001 standards.

Europe Laboratory

Our Genesys Membrane Laboratory in Madrid, Spain, provides a range of services specifically designed to identify the causes of membrane failure in reverse osmosis (RO), nanofiltration (NF) and ultrafiltration (UF) plants.

Americas Laboratory

Our PWT Laboratory in Vista, California, USA, is where our team of experts synthesize the dendrimer, primary component for a wide range of membrane chemicals and concentrated formulas, and offers autopsies, analytical work, technical support, and field service.
