An H2O Innovation Company

Genesys Facilities across the world

Our products are manufactured in the UK to the highest standards, supported by our three Laboratories in the UK, Spain, and California, providing a complete range of analytical services, research and development.

UK Lab & Production Facility

Genesys Manufacturing Limited was established in 2007 in Winsford, Cheshire, to optimize our chemical manufacturing and quality control. Due to rapid international growth we moved to our current, larger factory in Middlewich in 2009, where we manufacture our own range of specialty RO membrane chemicals. These include antiscalants, flocculants, biocides, and cleaning chemicals. We’re constantly carrying out pioneering research to come up with the best possible formulations and techniques.

All Genesys products are manufactured to ISO 9001 quality standard. Our manufacturing facilities includes large liquid and powder blending vessels and a quality control laboratory to support the production process. Our senior research chemist, Max Fazel, oversees production testing and the research and development of new products.

We test all our chemicals for compatibility with different manufacturers‘ membranes. Our products have also been granted NSF ANSI-60 and DWI (Drinking Water Inspectorate, UK) approval for use in producing safe drinking water.

We operate a strict health and safety management system and comply with all the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation & restriction of CHemicals) safety requirements. We’re always looking for ways to improve our working practices. For example we’ve recently installed a specially designed ramp to facilitate safe and efficient loading of full container loads, which now account for over half our product deliveries.

In 2023, H2O Innovation made a significant investment to the Middlewich factory, doubling the square footage of the factory, adding a new service yard and constructing a state of the art powder blending facility.

Madrid Laboratory

Our Laboratory in Madrid, Spain, provides a range of services specifically designed to identify the causes of membrane failure in reverse osmosis (RO), nanofiltration (NF) and ultrafiltration (UF) plants. Our lab in Spain is equipped with a wide range of analytical equipment to carry out different services, notably:

Membrane autopsy:  including the physical dissection of a membrane module or element, in-depth analytical testing, result interpretation, and reporting to provide invaluable information, such as foulant composition, mechanical integrity and chemical strategies for foulant removal.

Microbiological analysis:  includes identification and quantification of microbiological activity, and biocide efficacy tests on membrane surfaces.

RO/NF/UF/MF performance and pilot testing:  using test rigs membrane cleaning studies and pre-treatment optimization studies.

We have historically conducted over 2300 combined autopsies, always aiming for objective, scientific, professional, and comprehensive reports.

Americas Lab & Production Facility

Our Laboratory in Vista, California, is where our team of experts synthesize the dendrimer, the primary component for a wide range of membrane chemicals and concentrated formulas. Our Membrane Forensics™ lab in California offers autopsies and analytical work, technical support, and field service:

On-site & Off-site membrane cleaning:  We have the capability to provide general cleaner recommendations, review of current Clean in Place (CIP) procedures for potential improvements, and onsite support and off-site clean studies to maximize each cleaning’s effectiveness. Membranes can also be removed, cleaned and preserved off-site.

Water Analysis:  Our high sensitivity water analysis is useful in determining the concentration of key elements which may affect the performance characteristics of reverse osmosis operations. Our standard and wastewater test kits make sampling quick and easy. The analytical parameters for both kits were carefully selected based on our experience, and are intended to provide only the information needed helping reduce testing costs.

Membrane autopsy:  Our Membrane Forensics™ capabilities include non-biased expert evaluation and inspection of RO/NF/UF/MF membranes. Membrane autopsies include the physical dissection of a membrane module or element, in-depth analytical testing, result interpretation, and reporting.
