A sad farewell to Silvia Gallego
It’s with great regret that I have to announce that Silvia Gallego is leaving Genesys to further develop her career with Dow Filmtec.
It’s been an honour and privilege to work with Silvia, who has been with Genesys for the past nine years. During this time she was responsible for setting up and developing many of the techniques used in our world-renowned membrane autopsy lab in Madrid and has published a number of papers.
Nuria Peña, who has been working at the Genesys laboratory for over six years, will take over from Silvia as Technical Development & Marketing Director. Nuria has a PhD in Analytical Chemistry and has worked in water treatment since 2001, initially at Veolia Water Systems. As our Lab Manager, she worked closely with Silvia in developing our laboratory and the autopsy techniques we use.
Nuria will be supported by Javier Rodriguez Gómez, who joined the team in April 2011. Since then he has focused mainly on water analysis, membrane characterization and cleaning membranes in the flat test rig. Javi has a degree in Laboratory Analysis and Quality Control. He has previously worked in academia as well as industrial laboratories at CSIS (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientifícas, CAPSA (Corporación Alimentación Peñasanta S.A.) and CEDEX (Centro de Estudios y Experimentación de Obras Públicas).
We do take some pride in the fact that Silvia is going on to a highly technical and respected company like Dow Filmtec. However her presence at Genesys will be sorely missed.
