International Desalination Association – Santa Margherita, Portofino, Italy, 17-19 May


Immediately after the EDS conference, Ursula will be hot-footing it over to Portofino for the IDA’s two-day international conference, held in co-operation with the Rotary Club La Spezia. Part of the conference proceeds will be donated to a water-related humanitarian project.

Ursula will be speaking at the opening ceremony and presenting a paper on the chronic kidney disease (CKD) problems in central Sri Lanka, which are believed to be linked to drinking water contaminated with pesticides. Genesys business development manager Jonathan Hamp has been working with our Sri Lankan distributor to produce simple operating and maintenance guides for the reverse osmosis plants that are being installed in remote locations to purify the drinking water.

A key focus of the conference will be innovation to generate new and more sustainable desalination and water treatment options.
