AWT Annual Conference & Exposition
I managed to fit this conference in during the week between Tianjin and Amsterdam. It was held in the second biggest casino in the US – Mohegan Sun – which is set on an Indian reservation in Connecticut.
Unfortunately I just missed Bon Jovi, who played at the weekend, but was there for a very eventful Halloween party, which started in the exhibition hall and continued in the casino nightclub afterwards. All the stands were decorated and a few exhibitors were dressed up for the occasion. I spotted three witches from Phigenics, including Anne Burt, who I used to work with 12 years ago at Nalco HQ in Naperville.
The AWT (Association of Water Technologies) is a great organisation, with members including small and medium-sized US regional water treatment companies. They organise training and support for members and I managed to meet some very interesting companies who we hope to co-operate with in the future.
