Conferences and exhibitions

Ursula Annunziata, Rachel Wilson and Stéphane Jarrige first attended the Wetsus-EDS conference on membranes in drinking and industrial water production in Leeuwarden, Netherlands.
The conference featured an interesting mix of research and field trial papers. Stéphane presented a paper focusing on the advantages of early cleaning, a concept first introduced by Ted Darton in September 2011 at the IDA World Congress, Australia. It received a lot of interest from both academic and industrial participants and fuelled long discussions afterwards.
Ursula and Stéphane then went on to Journées Information Eaux in Poitiers, France. Although membranes were only one of many subjects covered, Stéphane’s early cleaning paper (delivered in French, of course) managed to spark some interest. Our representatives thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality, which included a full three-course lunch every day!
