Genesys Membrane Products in Spain also moved to new premises this year. The new state-of-the-art laboratory is fitted with custom-built equipment and is now conducting over 100 membrane autopsies and processes over 1,000 samples a year.

Over 2009 we've attended several major worldwide water conferences and exhibitions.
The first big event of the year was the European Desalination Society Conference in Baden-Baden in May, where I presented a technical paper on Genesys CAS, a calcium sulphate specific antiscalant, which is now available in our Downloads area.

Just two years after its launch, Genesol 703 - a powdered alkaline cleaner - has become our most popular product for cleaning fouled membranes. In addition to its intended purpose of removing clay deposits, it has proved very effective at removing organic and microbiological fouling on reverse osmosis, nanofiltration and ultrafiltration membranes.

In 2009 we held our fourth Genesys Distributor Conference which took place near Manchester in September. 38 delegates from 22 different countries attended the technical marketing and sales training workshop.

September saw the launch of the new-look Genesys brochure. The result of much hard work by General Manager Steve Chesters, the brochure has been very well received at the distributor and IDA conferences. We are pleased to report the success of the new manufacturing facility in the UK under the management of John Eckersley. His experience has ensured that more than 70% of orders are despatched within five working days of receipt. The year has been dominated by conferences with Genesys showcasing its important research through a series of technical papers. In September we held our third distributor conference at the Deanwater Hotel, at Wilmslow, near Manchester, which was attended by 35 delegates from 20 countries.
